2017 winners

Each year, the public chooses the winner of the app challenge Fan Favorite award.

The team that gets the most votes for its app concept will win the same prizes as Best in Nation winners: a $15,000 award for their school or out-of-school program; training from MIT experts to develop their concept into a working app; and an all-expenses-paid trip to the TSA Conference in June.

Help us pick this year’s winner! Watch the videos below and text the code of your favorite app concept to 22333. Voting runs now through Feb. 14.

Your vote counts—but choose carefully, because you can vote only once! (Standard texting rates apply.) International voting is not available at this time.

Congratulations to the winners of the 2016–17 Verizon Innovative Learning app challenge! The public chose one team as our Fan Favorite winner, and our judges chose winners at the Best in Nation, Best in Region, and Best in State levels. We are proud of their hard work and innovative ideas about how to meet community needs through technology!

Next, the Fan Favorite and Best in Nation teams will develop their concepts into working apps with help from MIT experts.
